Please introduce yourself and tell us what your position is at PBI? Explain what your role entails in the day-to-day. 

Response: Hi, my name is Dana Perretti and I am the Global Head of Human Resources at PBI. In my role, I oversee a broad range of HR responsibilities including recruiting and onboarding employees, managing employee relations, administering benefits and compensation, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. I also play a key role in developing and implementing company policies, leading training initiatives, and managing payroll operations. Each day, I work closely with PBI’s global teams to ensure that our HR practices are aligned with our business goals and reflect our core values

What appealed to you about joining PBI? 

Response: What drew me to PBI was its genuine commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive culture where every voice is not only heard but valued. The people here, and the emphasis on collaboration, respect, and continuous development, stood out immediately. I felt a clear alignment between PBI’s values and my own, particularly in how the company invests in its people and cultivates an environment of trust and growth.

What drives your passion and commitment to your role? What motivates you on a daily basis? 

Response: What drives my passion and commitment to the role is witnessing how employees grow, thrive, and reach their potential when supported by a strong and inclusive culture. Creating an environment where individuals feel valued, empowered, and connected to a greater purpose is deeply fulfilling. Knowing that I can play a role in their development and success is what motivates me each day.

1. How do you align PBI’s global human resources strategy with the diverse cultural and regulatory environments across the regions you operate in?

Response: Alignment begins with listening, learning, and observing what’s going on in the world, especially in times like this. I work closely with regional HR leaders to understand local regulations, cultural expectations, and workforce needs. From there, we tailor our global HR strategies to ensure they are flexible, compliant, and respectful of local norms. It’s a constant balance between maintaining global consistency and allowing for regional customization.

2. How do you stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in human resources, and how do you integrate this knowledge into PBI’s HR strategies

Response: I stay informed on emerging trends within HR by engaging with a wide range of resources including webinars, podcasts, industry blogs, and professional associations like SHRM. Since the pandemic, we’ve seen the emergence of online interviews and an emphasis on finding people who are collaborative despite having a hybrid work-schedule. Here at PBI, we look for people who have the character matched with the technical skills to thrive

3. Outside of your professional responsibilities, what activities or hobbies do you engage in that help you unwind and maintain a balanced perspective?

Response: Working out, taking walks in the park, and cooking are some of my hobbies that help me unwind and reflect throughout the weekend.
